Hello, blog readers and friends. We submitted an entry for Pet Peace of Mind in the Pepsi Refresh Project and it was accepted!! (This was harder than it sounds.) For those of you who don't know, Pepsi is giving away $1,300,000 dollars per month to projects submitted on their website. We entered a project called
"Help Hospice Patients Keep Their Pets" in the $250,000 category. This money would let us start Pet Peace of Mind at 28 new hospices and provide second year funding for the 10 already in place. One of these hospices has 900 patients! Just think of all the people and pets we could help with this money--
How can I help Pet Peace of Mind win this grant? I'm SO glad you asked! It's easy and only takes one minute per day! All we need is your vote!
- Go to http://www.refresheverything.com/ Just register at the lower left hand corner of the page where it says, "Join Refresh Everything." A small pop up box will come up. All you need is a working email address and a password (and be 13 or older). (Oh, and I haven't gotten one piece of spam for registering, either.)
- After you register, listen for the sound of the Pepsi can opening and pouring. Then, just type "Help Hospice Patients Keep Their Pets" in the white search bar at the top right hand corner of the home page to find us. Click on the gray "Vote for This Idea" button by the project name. That's it! On subsequent days, just sign in and vote---it's even faster!
How often can I vote? Just once a day from April 1-April 30. You have 10 votes, so you can vote for other projects, too! Every day counts and remember--for our category, there are
only two grants! I've seen projects in the lead drop out of the running toward the end of the month, so
please vote every day. You can register your family members that are 13 and older, too! Ask your parents and co-workers, too!
